East for Celtic Colours Kickoff and Meet Tom & Lucy - June 20 - July 01, 2025

We are heading back to "The Maritimes" after just returning a couple of weeks back. We had to return to Pointe Claire to get the garden in and to complete the painting and reflooring of one of our rooms so we could restore all the dislocated stuff from the guest room.

A month or so back our friends, Tom & Lucy, told us that their annual "no dog" vacation this year would be in NS and that they hoped to meet us there since we did not make our usual April trip to Maryland (even though we did send down our younger dog who is not an AKC CH). In mid June, Tom sent their itinerary in more detail and we sent off a bunch of places to see and where the good food is hiding. We also arranged to meet up around Baddeck.

We also wanted to visit Rod's cousin Denis and his partner in St. John, NB. We did not visit last trip because one of the beardie girls was in heat and we did not want to make their Australian Kelpie Dog, Buddy, too crazy. We also wanted to spend a bit more time with Rod's brother.

On June 19th, just as we were preparing to leave, we got an invitation from the 2025 Celtic Colours folks about a "Kick Off Céilidh" on Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Membertou Trade & Convention Centre. Other than arriving in Cape Breton a day earlier, this fit our plans so we send our RSVP. Any excuse for a free party!

As usual, the plan was to be back home by about July 1 when everyone else heads out.
