Testing A New Camper - May 26 - 28, 2019

At the beginning of April we welcomed a new addition to our household. She was (at the time) a 3 month old bearded collie pup named Josie. As she approached 5 months we decided it was time to welcome her to Roadtreking as well. Since she was scheduled to be shown in Baby Puppy class at the OKC show in New Richmond we had a perfect opportunity to give it a try.

Day 1 - May 26, 2019 - A Show Then Off To The County

Since we needed to be ring ready by 10:00, we hit the road about 6:30. On her last relatively short road excursion Josie had drooled massively so she got to skip breakfast and was dressed in a small top to keep her coat clean for showing. As it turns out, she was fine. It was probably a teething issue.

We arrived just after our friends (T&L) and were able to park the Roadtrek in formation with L's big Ford Transit. We helped them with the pack of beardies they had entered. In the end, Josie lost to her brother Bertie in the baby puppy class. We stayed around for the group judging then wished them luck and hit the road.

We made a stop in Brockville to get some coffee and pop into the LCBO for "supplies". After checking the time we decided to head straight to Prince Edward County. We made a stop at the Sobeys in Picton for a few other items. Since it was getting late we also picked up some chicken and the local KFC before heading to 201704A/index.html:Quinte's Isle Campark where we grabbed a camp site in our usual area.

After feeding the dogs and ourselves, we relaxed for the evening. At bed time we set up a barrier in front of the people sleeping area and left the dogs with the front. They managed to make arrangements between themselves and we all got a good night.
