BCCC National Specialty - August 14-19, 2016This inagural trip of our new 2016 Roadtrek Zion Class B Motorhome was more of a "trucking and hospitality" trip than a camping trip. We were involved with the Bearded Collie Club of Canada National Specialty in Belleville, Ontario. Since we were not showing and did not need all the related setup we probably would have traveled in our Prius as we had to Stratford in 2015. It turned out that we needed to help bring some equipment and trophies so we needed to take "the van". Formerly "the van" was a 2002 Ford Windstar Sport but we had just sold that to free up some space in the driveway for the Zion. We originally had planned to take delivery of the Zion after the specialty but we were able to move it up. This opened a new possibility. The Travelodge Hotel were the specialty was being held was familiar to us since we had held the specialty there some 5 years ago when the hotel was under different livery. The walk from the show site into any useful part of the hotel was long and always involved some sort of climbing. The parking lot, however, extended around where part was adjacent to the show venu so we were able to park the Zion close to the show and use it for hospitality. So we did exactly that. We did not "plug in" all week. We were mostly using the fan and the fridge. Between the solar panels, running errands and driving folks out to dinner etc. the batteries were always full. While it was not camping, it was sure nice to have the facilities handy to the show venu. Click here for our pictures from the specialty The Numbers
